Pears stuffed with walnuts.
4 firm, ripe pears (about 1,5 lb), washed, cored.
For stuffing:
9 - 10 vanilla crackers, crushed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 tbsp sugar
pinch vanilla extract
icing sugar and 1 g (pinch) ground cinnamon to dust.
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.
Cut pears in half from stem to root end, then core and discard. Arrange pears halves, cut
sides up, in a lightly greased baking dish.
3. Combine all ingredients for stuffing. In a medium bowl, mix together vanilla
crackers crumbs, egg, walnuts, sugar
and vanilla. Mound with mixture in each pear cavity.
4. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes, or until topping is cooked through and lightly browned and
pears are soft but not mushy and still hold their shape. Serve warm or at room
temperature.
