Rice with ground meat - Balls: "hedgehogs".
500 g (1,1 lb) beef, ground
300 g (10,6 oz) pork, ground
250 g (8,8 oz) rice, uncooked long-grain white rice
2 onions, finely chopped
2 beaten eggs
ground pepper, chopped dill, celery, parsley to taste
Ingredients for sauce:
water (almost to cover ball)
100 g (3,5 oz) sour cream
100 g (3,5 oz) mayonnaise
1 - 2 tbsp tomato sauce
bay leaf
Cooking Instructions:
Combine all ingredients for balls. Stir, knead thoroughly.
Shape meat mixture into balls the size of oranges.
Put meat balls into pot,
pour little water. Stew for 30 - 40 minutes. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, tomato sauce, bay leaf and
stew until rice is tender.
So I get "hedgehogs" from ground meat and long grain rice!
